Yeah, Berseria is good, but just like Xillia and Zestiria, they still didn’t quite get to the same level of Symphonia/Abyss/Vesperia. Overall, it has it's pros and cons. Berseria definitely deepened Zestiria’s lore and Zestiria made Berseria more poignant. I think you should definitely play it--it's one of my top 5 Tales games for sure, and I also didn't enjoy Zestiria. She distrusts humans and behaves mostly apathetic, but will become emotional when the situation involves her only living family member, her older brother. Verdict. Playing Zestiria after Berseria was indeed a better experience for me, just like you, Berseria was my first Tales, followed by Zestiria, the combat system is not as smooth as Berseria's, however I found it to be enjoyable, however the story is a bit more generic than Berseria's, but that didn't stop me from enjoying itTales of Berseria is a 1000 year prequel to Tales of Zestiria, but Zestiria was released first, and I found that playing Zestiria first made Berseria much more impactful than it already was. This new feature will show. Seeing how it was a foil to Berseria and how the plot releated was really cool. The gameplay is better in all aspects except difficulty (its like the easier one of all the tales) . #2.
